A workshop will be held to encourage and help local residents who are interested in starting their own businesses. The “Road to Independence” is a two hour workshop designed to provide resources and information for start up entrepreneurs. Topics include: getting started, business plan importance, market considerations and available resources in the community.
Michigan State University Extension is hosting the workshop at two locations with The Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and The Branch County Economic Growth Alliance. Mark Thomas and Joanne Davidhizar, MSU Product Center Innovation Counselors for Southwest Michigan are the instructors.

The workshops will be held October 25, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 57 N. Main Street, Three Rivers, and October 26, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Henry L. Brown Municipal Building (City Hall), One Grand Street, Coldwater, MI 49036.
