Market Feeder Calf Program

There will be a new Market Feeder Calf department in the youth department area of the 2012 Hillsdale County Fairbook. Youth may tag in up to four feeder calves: two dairy feeder calves and two beef feeder calves; and may exhibit two feeder calves. These can be either two dairy, or two beef, or one dairy and one beef feeder calf. Each calf must weigh a minimum of 300 pounds and a maximum of 600 pounds. One calf may be sold at the Wednesday Dairy Night and Feeder Calf Auction. The possession date for feeder calves is July 1, 2012; mandatory tagging will be Sunday, July 8, 2012; 12:00 (noon) – 2:00PM at the Large Animal Expo Building on the Hillsdale County Fairground. Rules, classes and vaccination guidelines can be found on the Documents tab under 4-H Documents.
