Online Crop and Forage Highlights Webinar Series



March 14 Online Grain Crop Highlights: The evening of Thursday March 14th, 2013 MSU Extension will offer an online program addressing key grain production and pest management information for 2013. Participants will learn how to enhance their corn and small grain systems in the coming season, and have an opportunity to ask questions of MSU grain production experts. The presentations will begin at 7:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM, covering corn, small grain, weed and insect pest topics. Participants can view the program independently online or attend a group viewing at one of several sites throughout the state.
Presentations will be given by the following:
  • Corn Production - Dr. Bob Nielsen, Purdue University
  • Small Grains Production - Martin Nagelkirk & Jim Isleib, MSU Extension
  • Weed Management - Dr. Christy Sprague, MSU Extension
  • Insect Pest Update - Bruce MacKellar, MSU Extension
  • MAEAP - Alan Krizek, MAEAP/MDARD
Two MDARD Pesticide Recertification Credits will be available for application to one of the following categories: Private Core, Commercial Core, or Field Crops.

March 21 Online Forage Crop Highlights:
The evening of Thursday March 21st, 2013 MSU Extension will offer an online program addressing key forage production information for 2013. Participants will learn how to enhance their forage systems in the coming season, and have an opportunity to ask questions of MSU forage production experts. The presentations will begin at 7:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM, covering drought recovery management, corn silage and cost of production topics. Participants can view the program independently online or attend a group viewing at one of several sites throughout the state.
Presentations will be given by the following:

  • Corn Silage Production - Dr. Bob Nielsen, Purdue University
  • Drought Recovery Management - Dr. Kim Cassida, MSU Extension
  • Cost of Forage Production - Phil Kaatz, MSU Extension
  • MAEAP for Forage and Livestock - Allen Krizek, MAEAP/MDARD
Two MDARD Pesticide Recertification Credits will be available for application to one of the following categories: Private Core, Commercial Core, or Field Crops.
