From Lori Bever, Large Animal Sale Coordinator - Date: 10/8/18

There is an error from Auction/Sale day beginning with the Swine sale. The amounts calculated in the system are most likely incorrect on any Sales Invoices generated that day and Auction Statements sent out the week after. The support market value (.415 #) was blank on the calculation screen therefore buyers invoices or statement would show their bids LESS the market value instead of it being included in the bill of sale.

For example:
John Smith bid & purchased a pen (2 animals with separate catalog sale #’s) for $400.00
Cat Sale # 508, hog weighing 220# with a Market Value of $91.30 and Cat Sale # 509, hog weighing 240# with a Market Value of $99.60 and keeping both for personal purchase being sent to Jerome Co. Mkt.

Should read on the Invoice as:
#508 Bid: $200. plus MV of $91.30 = $291.30 – owed by the purchaser/bidder
#509 Bid: $200. plus MV of $99.60 = $299.60 – owed by the purchaser/bidder
Total invoice: $590.90

Most early invoices sale day are showing the opposite and are incorrect and will be rebilled.
If the market value of the swine is subtracted from the bid amount, it is incorrect; unless the buyer designated it to the packer (shipped it). Then, the buyer would only be required to pay their bid amount; $400. This is the simplest way to explain the calculation portion of a sale bill.

I have subsequently had to delete most swine sale information and will be sending corrected
information to buyers. If you have any questions, please call Lori Bever and leave a message at 517-250-2095. I apologize for the inaccurate sales invoices or statements that you may have received already and ask each buyer to thoroughly review what was purchased that day.

To the exhibitors, your Exhibitor/Sales statements are also being reviewed for accuracy and those already in process have been corrected. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to you and your buyers who may be affected by the computer issues on sale day.
