is the 4-H Teen Leaders in Action Workshop and how can it benefit you &
your county 4-H program?

Teens
have an opportunity to build their leadership skills and give back to their
community

Teens
use resources and activities provided to lead activities for new youth 4-H
audiences in your local community

Teens
can share their expertise on topics which they are passionate about and help
address real world problems
4-H
teen leaders are being sought to help meet the challenge of educating the next
generation of young people!! You will have the opportunity to build your
own leadership skills while teaching a fun lesson to other young people on one
of these important and timely topics:
Agriculture
Literacy (native bees)
Global Citizenship
Healthy Living
Money Management
Global Citizenship
Healthy Living
Money Management
Teens
attending the training will gain leadership, communication, and facilitation
skills that they can use while teaching one of the provided activities.
Teens are able to connect with youth audiences as peers and engage them in
learning from a different level than adult educators. Many teens are
passionate about the things they do and learn in 4-H; they are excited to share
their knowledge with others. This workshop allows teens the opportunity
to be an expert on a topic and share their knowledge with their peers.
Details
This
workshop will take place at Kettunen Center (Tustin, MI) February 23-24,
2019. Registration for the event is due by 2/14/19 at https://events.anr.msu.edu/TeenTeachers19/. Registration
for this workshop is $45; this low cost is made possible through programming
grants and sponsorships within each of the programming topic areas. The
workshop is open to teens 13-19 years old 4-H age.
The
workshop is open to teens who are not already 4-H members; however, all
participants registering for the workshop do need to register in 4-H Online as
4-H members in their local county.
