Youth Leadership & Healthy Living Supervising Educator

 

Position Overview

As part of MSU Extension (MSUE) and the Children and Youth Institute (CYI), this position provides expertise in youth leadership development and family health and wellness education by conducting programming and leading, managing, and supervising staff in programming efforts. This position will have statewide responsibilities and will collaborate across work teams, institutes, and community groups, working with faculty, specialists, and educators for overall advancement of clientele needs.

 

This position is a full-time, fixed-term end-dated appointment, renewable annually based upon successful performance and continued funding. At this time, funding is anticipated to be available through June 2024. This position lead program instructors to support their work in the rural youth and family immunization education grant project.

 

You will coordinate, recruit, and provide leadership for the youth ambassador team in a campaign that will define strategies for staff working in the communities within their districts. You will work with staff to ensure that programming meets the needs of the clientele and is in alignment with funder and/or MSUE expectations, including providing support to amplify their voices in increasing immunization, including Covid-19 vaccination education, and to promote awareness of other childhood immunizations.

You will guide staff as they design, implement, and evaluate programming efforts and will ensure dissemination of research, while serving as an informational resource for MSUE personnel and clientele. Additionally, you will work in partnership with Detroit Public Television to support campaign related program opportunities as they arise.

 

Serving on the Leadership and Civic Engagement team and Healthy Living committee as a program lead for immunization education, you will provide updates at work team meetings to confirm what programming is happening in an area.

 

Although negotiable, there will be space available for this position to work from the MSU campus located in East Lansing, Michigan, or from a county MSU Extension office.
