Drought Management for Area Farmers

Area farmers affected by the drought can get their crop insurance questions answered at a meeting Tuesday August 21, at the B. E. Henry Building in Marshall MI.  Topics to be discussed will include general farm management decisions, advice from a drought claims adjuster and an update on USDA government programs.   Roger Betz, MSU Extension Farm Management Educator, Beth Lake, Calhoun County FSA Executive Director and Paul Pertz, ADM Claim Manager will be guest speakers.
The session is being hosted by Goshert Insurance.  Their goal is for farmers to understand their options and the process to deal effectively with their drought stricken crops.   The meeting is free and open to anyone interested.   The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the B. E. Henry Community building, 615 S. Marshall Street, Marshall; adjacent to the Calhoun County fairgrounds.   Contact Jerry Bosserd, at 269-275-7912 for any additional information.
