Jackson Spartans are sponsoring a family-friendly Fall event at Michigan State University’s Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton, MI.Come out to the beautiful Irish Hills area and enjoy the expected Fall colors along the way. Drive the wooded 6 miles on the Woodland and/or Great Meadow Drives on the protected grounds of Hidden Lake Gardens to enjoy you own personal color tour.
Bring a blanket to enjoy a picnic that you’ve packed yourself or the hot dogs (by ticket only) that Jackson Spartans will be cooking on the grill at the grassy picnic area (picnic tables available too).
There will be a number of kid- and family-friendly activities including:
- Hiking on one of the 9 hiking trails of varying lengths (including an accessible trail) All day (9am-7pm)
- Tractor pulled hay rides 12pm-2pm
- Kid craft activities, including mini pumpkins
- SPARTY WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE 1:30-2:15 at Picnic area
- The Domed Plant Conservatory 9am-6pm (Guided tour at 1pm)
- Catch-and-release fishing for kids 10 and under. Bring your own fishing tackle! Parental supervision required. 11am-12pm
- Ponding — Collect critters from the pond and identify them 1pm-3pm
- Guided Tour of Gardens 2pm
- Hot dogs at the picnic area (ticket required, click on the Hot Dog ticket 12:30pm-2:00pm
- Self-guided scarecrow walk
- Corn Hole
- Free MSU pom-poms
- And lots more!
If you are attending but not ordering hot dogs, use the free RSVP ticket. If you would like hot dogs use the Hot Dog ticket.
